FOOD-GRADE MICA-BASED PEARLESCENT PIGMENT POWDERS

Appearance: Shimmery sparkle powder with small particle sized pieces Intended as dry or wet application for confectionery projects. Perfect for brushing on dry, or mixing with liquid for painting, airbrushing or “sponging” on the desired product.

Ingredients: Each of our Luster Dusts are made with a food grade Mica-Based Pearlescent which meets all FDA requirements for Food Grade and Edible Pearlized Mica Mineral; Additionally, they may contain one or more of the following food grade & FDA approved ingredients depending on the color. Rice protein, corn starch, dextrose, various FD&C color additives.

Uses, Specifications, FDA Compliance & Restrictions:The FDA has approved all the ingredients being used in our edible glitters & edible dusts based on the FDA approved ingredients & usage levels. However, to learn more about the FDA approved usage levels and the approved ingredients list from the FDA read “Substances Added to Food” at FDA.GOV & “FDA Approved Usage Levels” Article 73.350 and more.

• Pearlized Mica may be safely used as a color additive in amounts up to 1.25% in food and 0.07% in alcohol beverages of this product, by weight, in cereals, confections/frostings, gelatin desserts, hard/soft candies (including lozenges), nutritional supplement tablets/gelatin capsules, chewing gum, distilled spirits (alcohol content 18-25% w/w).
• Cordials, liqueurs, flavored alcoholic malt beverages, wine coolers, and cocktails.
• Non-alcoholic cocktail mixes and mixers, such as margarita mix, Bloody Mary mix, and daiquiri mix, but excluding eggnog, tonic water, and beverages that are typically consumed without added alcohol (e.g., fruit juices, fruit juice drinks, and soft drinks).
• In egg decorating kits used for coloring the shells of eggs in amounts consistent with good manufacturing practice.
• The color additive may not be used to color foods for which standards of identity have been issued under section 401 of the act, unless

the use of the added color is authorized by such standards (ref 21CFR73.350) *Please always refer to the FDA’s latest information.

Allergens Not Present: At this time, the ONLY known major allergen used in any of Sunflower Sugar Art’s edible products is FD&C YELLOW #5 & YELLOW #6 Used in a number of our Food Color products (primarily Yellow, Green, Teal and Brown shades) A very small percentage of the general population has a “sensitivity” to FD&C Yellow #5 & YELLOW #6; Sunflower Sugar Art™ products that contain FD&C Yellow #5 & YELLOW #6 will have it clearly stated on the ingredient statement and all documentation. Please note that some of our sprinkles contain soy lecithin, which is different than

a soybean ingredient, soy lecithin is a lipid derivative of soy that contains only trace amounts of soy proteins (i.e. 100-500 ppm) from highly processed soy oil. Most allergists agree that soy lecithin, in many cases, does not contain sufficient soy protein residues to provoke allergic reactions in the majority of soy-allergic consumers; however, it should be noted that soy lecithin is an ingredient in some of the sprinkles that we offer, and should be used at the consumers discretion and sensitivity to the soy ingredient.

Edible Glitter Biodegradable Statement: All of our edible glitters are biodegradable. By utilizing certified synthetic and natural mica, we can ensure our edible glitters are free of PET plastic glitter. As such, our edible glitters are biodegradable, safe pigments with no concerns regarding landfill, waste or waterways. Please note, most “claimed” edible glitters on the market may not be biodegradable, and our biodegradable food safety statement is only specific to the edible glitter products manufactured and produced by Sunflower Sugar Art™.

Additional Information:
Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in cool, dry, dark place.
Stability: When stored under the proper conditions, initial product strength and color hue should be maintained.
Shelf Life: Minimum of 60 months from date of manufacture.
Allergens: This products does not contain any Major Food Allergens. As define in the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act.

However, there are no Peanuts, Tree Nuts or any of their derivatives stored on the premises. GMO Status: NON-GMO

Vegan Status: Our Edible Dusts & Glitters are suitable for Vegan & Vegetarian diets.
